I must begin with two apologies: 1. For posting this super late (summer laziness) and 2. for the camera failure I had during the game, meaning that the person in charge of the camera took atrocious pictures! Nonetheless, I am pleased to tell you that I had fantastic seats and a blast watching this brand spanking new Real Madrid. Here are the pics:

Most of the pictures are from the warm up and the first half as the second half was too exciting to bother to take pictures. Sorry, we really wanted to enjoy the game! The fans gathered as close as possible to see their heroes in the flesh.

Sergio Ramos got the most screams and the fans even started to chant his name. He returned the gesture with a wave and smile.

The teams line up. Ramos is the captain.

I wanted to note that there was no Spanish national anthem played nor where the flags brought out like is accustomed. This most likely is due to the horrific error at the America v. Madrid match were the Franquist flag was displayed.

The moment Galaxy scores the first goal

Second half. Ronaldo and the other big guns take the field.

Moments after Pedro Leon scores the third and final goal. Los Blancos win and leave 89,000+ fans who attended the Rose Bowl spectacle real happy. It was a special night indeed.

I am fortunate to have seen this beloved team of mine twice, and let me tell you it is spectacular to see them physically in action. They storm into the grounds like warriors and yet they float around like angels. Maybe its the extra bright lights in the stadium or the fact that we know they are mega stars, but its something unique and indescribable of the aura that surrounds these players and more importantly the club. If this feeling comes over me when seeing them at the Rose Bowl, I can’t imagine the sensation one feels when stepping the grounds of the Bernabeu. Someday…

Real Madrid and LA

Ok I assume everyone is caught up with the news that Real Madrid’s pre season is being spent in the fantastic state of California, where the boys will give us a glimpse of what this new Madrid at the helms of Mourinho will be like in this upcoming season. Plus it is here in California where we will get a chance to see the latest signings by Madrid: Khedira and Di Maria. Yes the football world will be playing close attention to what Mou and the neo-galacticos can offer, and best of all is that I have a ticket to be close up and personal to see the action with my very own eyes! Proof below (sorry for the crap-tastic pic)!

This will be the second time I see los vikingos and I have bolts of excitement running through my body just waiting for Saturday to come! Sure this batch of galacticos don’t include Figo and Zidane, but seeing Pipita, Ronaldo, and Kaka is just as awesome!

Now my biggest disappointment is that throughout this whole time the boys have been here in my beloved Los Angeles is that I have not done any major stalking around all over Beverly Hills. I seriously should have at least two restraining orders but alas my busy schedule has kept me away from such fandom. However, come Saturday I will try to get as close up to the players to bring you my readers some interesting pictures. If that doesn’t work expect me to be at LAX airport the day they leave back for Europe!!

Alright my Madridista’s time to sign out! Let the countdown for Saturday begin!!!

Hasta Pronto…

In football and in every sport losing a game or a title is one of the greatest pains believed to exist, but this week having to say farewell to two of our beloved and best players has to be one of the most difficult moments for me personally as a madridista. The pain of not having them there next season is inconsolable and I am literally holding back the tears having to write this right now. So I will be brief and maybe later when I get over this emotional slump I will expand on my admiration for these two symbols of el club blanco.

Gracias Guti!…

Guti our eternal promise that never shined the way he should have but when he did it was one of those moments that you never forget. So simple yet so magnificent. Un genio , un crack capable of the impossible. The critics never understood him and characterized him as someone who never cared about the game but those tears in the press conference demonstrated that he really did care and has always cared. Well anyway it is because of Guti and those glimpses of beauty that I understood why I loved this sport so much. Thank you, Maestro!

Gracias Raul!…

Our Angel of Madrid why must you leave us? The ideal would have been to have him stay in Madrid and see him retire from football here, but deep down although the majority of the madridista’s feel this way we all know that it is a bit selfish on our part. The man still has the need to compete at the highest levels and play regular football, and we cannot deny him this opportunity to explore different seas. So for his happiness we must let him go but never forget all that he had given to the madridismo. The goals, glories, silverware, but more importantly his heart and soul. He may leave to Germany or even England but he will eternally be ours to cherish and admire. Our captain gracias por todo! Raulista hasta la muerte!!!

Gracias Mister!

Well by now we all know that Manuel Pellegrini is no longer our head coach and that a certain ‘Special One’ has been elected to supposedly bring us what Pellegrini couldn’t: silverware. But nevertheless this man deserves a standing ovation for what he gave to the club and what he was put through by certain hound dogs who were relentless in his persecution.

He never had the support of the President and never had a say in what players he wanted that would fit best to his vision. He was given a bunch of pieces to an incomplete puzzle, and yet despite those hurdles he managed to produce a record-breaking Real Madrid side. Unlike the filth that run our club, the supporters knew that what we needed most is for the Chilean to stay. The polls that Tito Floren loves so much proved how we felt, but yet our voices were unheard. How can we claim this club to be of señores when an outstanding coach is treated so appallingly awful.  El Mister deserved better and we as supporters deserve better as well from our institution. Personally, I believe we lose a lot with the departure of El señor Pellegrini who with his style of football promised so much, but yet was never allowed to fully dig his hands into giving this Madrid a real identity.

Buena suerte Señor Pellegrini! I hope that where ever you land you prove to the Madrid honchos how wrong they were to have ever let you go!

*I am not ready to speak about Mourinho. All I will say is that a man who  waits around for another man to drop dead in order to take their job, can never have my respect.
